Mantle
The Mantle is the next layer after Crust. Mantle is found at the depth of about 7 to 35 kms below the earth's surface and extends widely up to approximately 2800 kms (1720 miles). This layer is made of a solid materials which take up about 85% of the total mass of the Earth. There are two different layers of mantle; Upper Mantle and Lower Mantle. The first 100 km of the mantle consists of rocks that predominantly contain metals. In the next 150 km, the solid rock becomes weak due to the heat.
