Crust
The Crust is the outermost and thinnest layer of the Earth. The crust is of two types: Oceanic Crust and Continental Crust. Oceanic Crust, is a form crust that is formed under the ocean floor, is made of dense rocks. This layer is about 7 to 10 kilometers (4 to 6 miles) thick. The Continental Crust, found under land masses, is made of less dense rocks such as granite. Its thickness varies between 20 to 75 kilometers (6-47 miles).
